MTran Photography is a husband and wife photography team. Marilen started taking pictures with her first DSLR in 2005. As a teacher, it was inevitable that her first subjects were her students and co-workers. Marilen soon started taking pictures for school dances, team photos, ASB and sports events and school photos for promotional purposes. By 2006, her hobby soon became a demanding business and started taking family portraits, Quinceañeras, special events and weddings. Marilen's husband, Lan, is the foundation of the business. He taught himself the basics and essential components of being a knowledgeable and successful photographer. He continued to push Marilen with her photography and ensured that she was using the equipment properly and effectively. Marilen still remembers the days when Lan would quiz her on camera settings. Lan continues to be a huge contributor to the business by editing the photos, being a second shooter at weddings and assists with family photoshoots. MTran Photography's photos have been featured in the San Diego Union Tribune and the San Diego CityBeat. Marilen is very passionate with her work and strives to capture special moments with every client. Photo sessions start at $150.
